Through strategic and compassionate action, we support unhoused people in Austin, TX so that they may achieve self-sufficiency and health. Our mission is rooted in the belief that awareness, relationship, and sustained presence can build a community where everyone has the opportunity to be seen and accepted as worthy of love.
We're a grassroots initiative formed by neighbors, for neighbors, to support unhoused individuals in our Austin community with dignity, compassion, and action. Started after a conversation at a local gathering, ITAV has grown into a dedicated network of volunteers. We are committed to trustful relationships with our unhoused neighbors so we can effectively support them in their individual journey. We partner with existing service agencies to offer practical, person-centered support—like providing water and supplies, or helping secure documents and benefits. We help solve difficulties our clients may encounter in finding housing and medical care.
